They match the Vapor Blue forks that you saw here first in March.

Bobby Parker knows I love a good tabletop photo.
That’s why I was so stoked to see this in my in-box the other day.
While he may be partially hidden behind the tree leaves, nothing obscures the radness of the table.

Sunday sent over some pics the other day of the new Wave-C frames they’re testing out.
While not a huge departure from the existing Model-C, it does have the wave top tube (that we’ve seen in earlier photos) and hollow dropouts with chain tensioners.
What’s changed/improved
Have to say, a longer top tube and the ability to run the back end shorter is a pretty big selling point for this frame. Not to mention the extra strength afforded by the wave tubing.
Production colors are probably going to be black and a light blue.
If the color in these pictures looks familiar to you, you might be a flatlander. It’s actually the same one used on the Odyssey Flatware frame (and just being used for the prototype/test frames).
If you’re on Sunday Bike’s Facebook feed, you may have caught this video of Wayne Keller riding his local skatepark.
What you may not know, besides tearing up the skateparks, Wayne also has a thing for repurposing, remachining and generally customizing his parts for his ride.
Check out his stem. He carved the top off and engraved “Dork” on it. The cool paint job on both the stem and the sprocket are trick too.
His hubs are also attention-getting…painted in a “can’t miss this” orange.
To keep things fresh, Wayne’s redoing his bike at the moment and ditching the lime green and orange. He’s changing a bunch of his parts to different shades of grey.

How I said it would be so cool if it went into production?
That I had my fingers crossed the “Wave-C” would show up at Interbike?
Well, I still have no idea if (or when) the Wave-C will go into production but I did find out that the Wave-C was at Interbike!
Chris at PlusSizeBMX.com, a site that covers mostly 24 and 26″ MTB riding, got in touch with me recently and let me know that he got some great pics of the Wave-C at Interbike.
I gather that if this does go into production it will be a frame-only deal….if it also features a longer top tube…well, then I think Sunday is going to have a hot seller on their hands.
With Interbike in full swing, video clips of all the new product lines are coming fast and furious from all the major BMX sites covering the event. Not surprisingly, most bike companies are highlighting their 20″ offerings in these clips and leaving out the 24s in their lineup.
Sunday, on the other hand, takes a decidedly different route and leads off their video clip with a look at their new 24s. Say what you will about Sunday, this is just another example of the level of support and innovation they’re bringing to the 24′ cruiser scene.

Contrast that with We the People, who despite having a relatively long history of making great 24″ BMX bikes, do very little to promote them or grow the market. Checking out Vital BMX’s video of the WTP booth, you would never guess that they have one of the better 24s available. Seems crazy to not even mention it….especially given all the attention that Sunday has brought to the 24″ scene.
Sunday Bikes continues to step things up in the 24″ world with two (yes, two!) versions of the Model-C set for release in their 2011 lineup.
The Model-C EX
Designed as a low-cost option for the first-time 24″ bike buyer it still packs plenty of punch with some great aftermarket parts. It has the proven Model C Plus 4 geometry and is great option for those riders that don’t have the cash to build up a frameset from scratch.

It has a cro-mo downtube, headtube and dropouts. There are two color options: matte gray and red. Different graphics and sticker kits for each color option. (Priced at about $519 US)
Model -C PRO
This is Sunday’s top-of-line 24″ complete and it looks the part!
One of the best spec’d completes on the market. It features:
Full cro-mo frame, forks and bars. This will handle just about anything you can throw at it. (Priced at about $799.99 US).
Top tube sizes for both the EX and the PRO are 21.25″.
Bobby Parker from Sunday/Full Factory hinted about these in the comments recently when I posted about missing my front brakes.
Well, now we have a spy photo of the prototype Sunday Model-C forks with 990 mounts that he’s currently testing!
Bobby says they’ve been running great and Eben Krackau also has pair that he’s testing. No word yet on release dates but keep it tuned here for updates.
Flatland legend Kevin Jones showed up at the York Jam last weekend riding a Sunday Model C! Easily the most influential flatland rider of his era, the list of flatland tricks he invented is too long to recap here…needless to say, seeing him on a 24″ bike is pretty exciting.
Jim C has also got to be pretty pleased that Kevin is on a Model-C. Check out the Sunday Bikes site for a bigger version of the Eric Mitchell photo above.

I’m not sure how I missed this when it came out but inthegnar.com has a great interview with Jim Cielencki of Sunday Bikes on their site.
When asked about how Sunday has evolved over time he mentioned how 24s have impacted the company in a positive way:
The 24″ stuff has been an interesting surprise. Bikes are at an interesting time. It really seems like the definition of track bikes, MTB and BMX is becoming less clear. You are starting to see MTB and track bikes coming towards BMX with its tricks, style and use of BMX parts. The 24″ has been great because it allows older and bigger guys to ride BMX without having to think they should be on a MTB.
What really got my attention though, is what Jim said what he was riding. In addition to a Third Wave 20″, he’s also riding a 24:
The 24″ is a Wave C prototype with front brakes. My bike is so good right now.
Whoa…now that would be cool if it went into production. Wave tubing.
Fingers crossed the Wave C shows up at Interbike.
