Remember the post, “Is a Model-C with wave tubing next?”
How I said it would be so cool if it went into production?
That I had my fingers crossed the “Wave-C” would show up at Interbike?
Well, I still have no idea if (or when) the Wave-C will go into production but I did find out that the Wave-C was at Interbike!
Chris at PlusSizeBMX.com, a site that covers mostly 24 and 26″ MTB riding, got in touch with me recently and let me know that he got some great pics of the Wave-C at Interbike.
I gather that if this does go into production it will be a frame-only deal….if it also features a longer top tube…well, then I think Sunday is going to have a hot seller on their hands.
As I understand it the wave tubing is used for strength correct?
Is it just me or does this seem unnecessary on the Model C?
Don’t get me wrong. I love the C (I have two now) but wave tubing on a 20″ that could be used by one of the 19 year olds that want to do double front flip, triple tail whip bar spins of a cliff to flat might need the extra strong tubing but you typical Mod C guy is far from likely to crack the top tube.
Am I wrong?
Oh and quit screwing around with the top tube and give us the works with brake posts. 🙂
Forks….I meant to forkin say forks.
well i shred often on my mod-c and the bottom of frame’s downtube has now 3 mild dents (mostly from hitting a rail with the frame), sooo i thing wave would be quite good for me. i realise i’m not a typical cruiser rider and most of cruiser guys don’t go that hard on bikes, but i still think waving would be cool, just for extra safety :))) of course, i the price stays the same.
Rear tire clearance problems? I have an Aitken 2.25 on the back of my C, wheel is not slammed, and the tire is soooooooo close to the brake and chainstays. I’m a little bummed, am I missing something that could be done? thanks,
Colin
well i discussed this with Jim C, and he told there are no plans on making wider tire clearance, as they felt the bike was sluggish with huge tires.
i went with 2.1 tires and they fit perfect with that slammed wheel!
