Sunday sent over some pics the other day of the new Wave-C frames they’re testing out.
While not a huge departure from the existing Model-C, it does have the wave top tube (that we’ve seen in earlier photos) and hollow dropouts with chain tensioners.
What’s changed/improved
- a new shaped chainstay allows you to run the backend shorter than the existing Model-C
- a 22″ top tube (!)
Have to say, a longer top tube and the ability to run the back end shorter is a pretty big selling point for this frame. Not to mention the extra strength afforded by the wave tubing.
Production colors are probably going to be black and a light blue.
If the color in these pictures looks familiar to you, you might be a flatlander. It’s actually the same one used on the Odyssey Flatware frame (and just being used for the prototype/test frames).
When it is supposed to be out?
No exact date yet. Still in testing phases to make sure everything is what we are looking for. Once I know I will let Ed know to pass along.
When it is available, do you know where in the UK you could buy one?
Trying everywhere to get a model c 21.75 but am having no luck at all.
Very nice, like the color, can’t wait to take a ride on the 22!
I am hoping to have it built up and riding at Walnut this Sunday. I still need to shred that P-24 you got. Bike swap party!!!
HELL YEAH!!!!!
Nice!!! What about the new fork with 990 mounts?
Any info on BB height? Was it kept at 13.75″?
Same BB height. All of us who have ridden previous versions of the Model C at that BB height all agreed that it felt awesome. So why change a good thing, I guess?
Color i snic eindeed, but id like a 20″3d wave blue too!
Ian I have a green 21.75″ I would like to sell. Email me at ssteinbr@cox.net for pics and more info.
I saw the wave model c proto tonight at RaysMTB. Taj was riding one…. looked awesome… 28t chainwheel max without spacing it out and messing up the chainline. I wanted to ride it but I got caught up riding the new parts of the park and lost track of him. I will see him tomorrow though… I will let you guys know.
Any chance that you’ll have a camera with you?
Would love to see Taj in action on the Wave-C.
I will bring a camera and do my best to get some pictures.
x2 on the 990 forks
x3 to the third power on the forks.
Forks are coming soon, young grasshoppers…haha. Hopefully by Christmas.
Sorry no pics… I couldn’t find Taj… but I missed the BBQ… didn’t get there until 4pm.
But if my wife will let me out of the house for a third day in a row to ride tomorrow I will go back to RaysMTB and track him and the wave model c down.
wowsers… i just found my birthday present!
did someone say forks with brake mounts?!?!?!
hmmmmmmmmmmm… brake mounts.
Well I never saw Taj again yesterday… I am a RaysMTB local and ride there 4 times a week so it is just a matter of time before I come across the Odyssey guys and a wave Model C. I am so kicking myself because I could have ridden Taj’s too… it is that bright blue sunday color.
Does anyone know how short the back end will go?
totally buying that new model c after riding an OG model c for about 9 months. best bike i’ve ever had; that color and the upgrades are definitely boner-inspiring.
Tell Cielenki that X-mas is coming…
Any news on release date?
Release date is supposed to be early Feb.
Any plans for a complete wave model c anytime soon? I’m on the verge of buying a model c ex this weekend.Wonder if i should wait. That tax return is burning a hole in my pocket.
