Sixteen Candles

22 03 2017

I got to celebrate another spin around the sun this past weekend.

Yes, it was my birthday.

And while there were more than sixteen candles on the cake, I still managed to have some fun in my now rapidly advancing years.

It was an action-packed weekend filled with indie wrestling, the Trainspotting sequel, a session at Joyride 150 and a Raptors/Pacers basketball game.

The icing on the proverbial cake, however, was seeing a Facebook picture of Trent Brocker sporting a Cruiser Revolution t-shirt atop the MegaRamp at Woodward West.

(Trent was attending the Old School BMX Reunion and getting a few laps in.)

Trent even got a little dirt on it to break it in.

Nice!

As you can see, the space-age fabric (100% cotton) the shirt can take some abuse and is (like Trent) no worse for wear.

Finally, I was hoping to wrap up this meandering post with riding shots but alas I was remiss in pulling out my phone while riding at Joyride.

Thankfully, Bunky Dunn also recently celebrated a birthday and commemorated the day by flinging himself down a couple rails.

Please enjoy in lieu of my absent riding photos.

Cheers…and go see Trainspotting 2 if you haven’t seen it…good flick!

Bunky Dunn’s Wave C gets a fresh look

4 02 2016

I’ve checked out a few of Bunky Dunn‘s bike check/setup posts in the past and they’ve always got my attention.

Today, I caught this one will surfing through a thread at BMX Museum.

And like in the past, this one caught my attention…because it’s not every day that you come across a Green Sunday Wave C.

Definitely a cool looking green machine.

It’s no stranger to the streets…and rails…either.

Check out this clip for proof.

Radness.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

(Note: headline best read aloud with a monster truck rally announcer voice.)

The guys over at Sunday Bikes have been sharing a bunch of pictures over the past few days of their flagship 24″ bike, the Model-C, popping up in cool places and situations.

First off was a pic of Bunky Dunn’s Model-C chilling at the ACL festival in Austin, Texas.  Bunky helps set up music festivals but he always keeps his Model-C close at hand so he can get some shredding in. (Photo: Paulo Joaquim)

Another picture that surfaced was pucksnotdead  shredding some trails on his Model C (Photo: triblaze /mikeyaskew13)

Then an early morning ramp session at House Park in Austin yielded these shots.

Model -Cs all-around.

Bobby Parker ramp seshWord has it that a group of 24″ riders were also going to session the Walnut Creek trails later in the day so my fingers are crossed hoping that we’re going to see even more 24″ radness from the Sunday/Austin crew.
