Trail testing the prototype Liquid frame

20 12 2013

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty stoked to see Liquid Bikes back in the game with the release of the Feedback V2 frame.

To remind everyone but how well Liquid frames handle in the dirt, Liquid’s Jeremy Combs posted some old footage of  himself riding  the Koala Trails on a prototype Liquid Feedback frame.

So rad.

Liquid Bikes teases with pic of new frame

30 10 2013

Solid Bikes posted a picture a couple of days ago that had some people buzzing about whether or not they were producing a 22″ frame.

Turns out the frame in the picture was none other than the Solid Bikes-produced prototype of the new 24″ Liquid Bikes frame.

new Liquid 24in frame built by SolidI’ve been looking forward to getting a closer look at this frame ever since I heard that a new Liquid frame was on the way.

Hopefully this means that we are getting real close to this frame becoming available to the public.

For more early pics of the Liquid prototype frame, check out this previous post from back in June.

And if you’re wondering if this frame can hold up to some serious riding…check out this clip of the trails that Liquid Bikes owner, Jeremy Combs regularly rides at (and a few quick clips of the new frame in action).

15 seconds of motivation

Nothing like a Jeremy Combs edit to make you want to get out and ride some dirt.

Even if it is only 15 seconds long.

A new Liquid Feedback frame on the way?

14 06 2013

Liquid Bikes is dropping hints that an updated Liquid Feedback frame might be on the way.

The hints started trickling in early last week with a teaser shot of what they called “a next generation Liquid Feedback prototype frame.”

Proto-next gen Liquid Feedback frame

That was quickly followed a few days later with a pic of it all built up.

Liquid Feedback next gen build

Accompanying the photo was the following write-up:

Liquid Bikes is excited to announce that we’re teaming up with our California brothers – Solid BMX. Hand crafted in California… just like the trails. More info, details, and availability coming soon!

This is pretty exciting news, given that Liquid has been on a bit of a hiatus since selling out of the last of its frames a while back.

A favorite among big wheel bad-asses like Buddy Sardenga, CMC and owner/operator, Jeremy Combs, it was sad to see the availability of Liquid Feedback frames dry up some time ago.

Thankfully, it appears that dry spell is about to change and Liquid frames are going to start flowing back to the public very soon.

Looking forward to hearing more about this story as it develops.

Tabletop shots never get old

17 08 2012

I’ve said it before…the classic tabletop never gets old.

Been around forever and they’ll stay around forever.

Jeremy Combs, laying one out.

Tried, tested and true

25 11 2010

A scientific theory must be testable.

It must be possible in principle to prove it wrong.

Experiments are the sole judge of scientific truth.

Is it true that Liquid frames rule on the trails?

Check out this old photo of Jeremy from Liquid Bikes testing a Liquid Feedback frame prototype.

I think we have the scientific proof right here.

Science can be fun.

More good stuff from Liquid Bikes

15 04 2010

Liquid Bikes has a new site up that looks great! It includes a blog and an online store to make it easy to pick up a Liquid frame or bars.

While the store appears to be set up for US shipping only right now, you can email for details and get sorted for international orders.

I like checking it out for the great trails clips that Jeremy posts from time to time.

Liquid’s Bubblegum Blue frame

4 03 2010

Sometimes the right color just gives a bike a little something extra…like Liquid’s Bubblegum Blue frame.

This bike just looks super cool.

But it’s not just a good-looking bike, it’s got a roomy front end with modern geometry that’s built for serious riding (if the pictures and videos featuring Liquid’s Jeremy Combs are any indication).

I think we’ll be hearing a lot more from (and about) Liquid Bikes in 2010.

Dirt: take with plenty of Liquid

21 01 2010

I teased you a while back with a great video from Jeremy Combs riding a prototype of his new Liquid frame.

Well, now it’s time to take a closer look.

I have to say I’m  pretty excited about this new frame…1) because it was obviously designed by someone that knows his way around a bike and 2) because it offers a long top tube and short chain stays (a combo that seemed a long time in coming).

Check out these specs from the liquid-dirt site:

TT: 22″ and 22.25″
BB: 12.7″
CS: 14.25″
HA: 74
SA: 72
ST: 9.15″ center to center
Weight: 5 lbs 3 oz

They’re also 4130 Sanko Chromoly and feature removable brake mounts and routing.

Colors available are:  flat black, pearl plum grey, and limited edition flat bubblegum blue.

And if you’re a fan of 24″ dirt jumping (and really, aren’t we all?) you should really check out liquid-dirt for great dirt jumping photos like the one below:

I’m talking liquid…

I’m talking liquid” –  Gordon Gekko, Wall Street

I’ve been chatting  with Jeremy Combs (via email)  over the last little while about his new bike company, Liquid bicycles, and their new 24″ frame.

The prototypes look great and I’ll be taking a more in-depth look at it in the very near future.

For now, check out Jeremy hitting the trails on the prototype.

(This video just makes you want to drop everything and go ride, doesn’t it?)
