First look: 2018 Cult Devotion 26

10 08 2017

When Cult joined the 26″ movement last year I was both stoked and surprised.

Surprised because Cult is — for the most part — a 20″ bike company. But, on the other hand, also stoked because another “core” BMX company was offering a nicely spec’d cruiser.

Truth be told, I was a little worried that a cruiser in the Cult lineup would be short-lived.

Thankfully, that’s not the case.

The Cult Devotion 26 is back for 2018…and it’s available in two(!) colorways.

First off, there’s a raw frame with black parts version.

Next up (and probably my favorite of the two)…a chrome frame version with black parts and some nifty whitewall red stripe tires.

Looking good!

Word on the street is that these rigs could be dropping as soon as next week.

So if you’re digging these fresh new colorways, hit up your Cult dealer on the double.

26″ Cult x VANS tires at the beach

26 01 2017

Cult Bikes and Vans just dropped a video of street phenomenon, Dakota Roche, trying out the 26″ Cult x Vans collab tire.

The tires we checked out last year at Interbike and come stock on the 26″ Cult Devotion.

You would think that Dak would just grab the 26″ Devotion to test out the tires…but Dak had other plans.

Dak went in a bit of a different direction…mounting them on something a bit more “beach-inspired”.

I won’t say that hilarity ensued…but it is kinda amusing.

Check it.

A closer look at the Cult Devotion 26

14 10 2016

The Cult Devotion 26 caught our eye at Interbike last month.

It was a bit of a departure from the 24″ cruisers Cult had put out in the past.

At the time, we didn’t have too many details …besides learning that it was full cro-mo (frame, fork and handlebars) and that it was kitted out with the new 26″ Vans tires.

Since then we’ve found out more about the Cult Devotion 26.

Geometry-wise, the 26″ Devotion’s numbers stacks up as follows:

  • Head angle: 72 degrees
  • Seat angle 72 degrees
  • Top tube: 22″
  • Chain stay: 16″
  • Bottom Bracket: 12.2″

Wheel-wise, you’re looking at a single-wall front rim and a double-wall rear rim, both paired up with sealed hubs (female axle on the front).

And as mentioned above, the wheels are sporting the fab new 26″ Vans tires (which are 2.30 width).

All in all, a pretty cool 26er from the folks at Cult.

(If you’re in the market for the Vans tires though, you’re going to have to wait a bit longer…ETA is January 2017.)

Cult joins the 26″ movement

27 09 2016

Here’s something I didn’t expect to see at Interbike.

A 26″ cruiser from Cult!

As you know, Cult has dabbled in the cruiser scene before: first, with The Simpsons/Cult Duffman Cruiser and then with the Cult Limited Edition Cruiser.

Both bikes were 24s.

So a 26″ was a real surprise from these guys…not to mention it’s full cro-mo construction, a departure from its alloy predecessors.

The Cult Devotion 26 also comes with another surprise…a 26″ version of their ever popular Vans collab tire!

And does it ever look cool.

While I was checking the bike out I also learned that additional colorways for the Vans tires are already in the works (for the aftermarket)…and they will be available in the next couple months.

We’re talking a red stripe.

And some super cool whitewalls.

I think these tires are going to be pretty popular.

No word yet on the specs of the cruiser but I expect they should be released any day now.

I believe both the cruiser and the tires should be available by November (the cruiser a little sooner).

Bonus info: Word on the street is that a version of these Vans tires might just end up on future SE model cruiser (but you didn’t hear that from me).
