Nike X Specialized Collab Cruiser

14 08 2024

Nigel Sylvester, for me anyway, typifies the “new school” of BMX. However, as it turns out, I might be typecasting him a bit.

Reason being, the new “Bike Air” 26-inch cruiser he is collaborating on with Nike/Air Jordan and Specialized.

This cruiser definitely has a look that pulls on the old school heart strings.

From the chrome plated frame, fork and handlebars to the the black wheel covers…the old school BMX vibe is undeniable. Heck, if all that wasn’t old school enough, the frame sports looptail dropouts!

Sure, the v-brakes are definitely a nod to the modern era…but they are more in line with the general vibe of the bike than the disc brake setups that now starting to dominate the market.

Apparently Nigel was obsessed with chrome bikes as a 90s kid and this bike is an ode to the that time and a celebration of his AJ4 RM “Driveway Grey” shoe.

With all that being said, these bikes are looking to be an extremely limited run…word is that less than 20 will be made. So, if one of these chrome beauties interests you…keep your eyes peeled for drop information…cause they are going to go quick.

Back in the saddle

7 01 2015

It’s been a spell but I hope you have had a great holiday season and are ready to dive into 2015.

I just got back from a trip to Argentina…and while it wasn’t a biking-related trip (I only saw one person riding when we were in the capital) I was struck by how many great street setups/spots were in Buenos Aires.

I kept thinking, “If only I had my bike with me…”  So much shreddable terrain!

As it turns out a bunch of Nike-sponsored riders (Chad Kerley, Dennis Enarson, Garrett Reynolds, Nigel Sylvester and Kriss Kyle) hit BA earlier in 2014.

They had their bikes with them of course.

Check out this edit and get a taste of all the great street setups Buenos Aires has to offer.

Watch for a return to our regular CR programming in the next few days.
